2020: Year in Review
2020 was an unprecedented year to say the least. Join MacFood Mart and McIntosh Energy Company as we look back and reflect on the wild ride of 2020. Thanks for sticking with us!
- The COVID-19 worldwide pandemic began, resulting in business shutdown and limited hours. Fortunately, we were deemed an essential business and rode through it in good shape.
- We were able to add $2.00 per hour to front line employees during the height of the pandemic.
- Our stores offered free coffee and fountain drinks throughout the beginning of the pandemic to customers.
- Royville was remodeled, making better use of space by adding counter space, new gondolas, improving the backroom, and making a unique beer and wine cove.
- The food service program at Waynehaven was improved with the addition of a Merry Chef oven, new refrigeration, stainless steel walls and freezer equipment. Deli sales have since increased significantly.
- We welcomed over 1,800 new MacRewards Card members.
- An Online Payment Portal was launched for Fuel Delivery and Pacific Pride customers, making invoice payments more convenient and paperless.
- New outdoor digital signage was installed at Royville, Brookwood, and Waynehaven. All four stores can now easily showcase specials and feature products outside.
- The parking lot at Waynehaven was resealed.
- The corporate office parking lot was repaved.
- Our Waynehaven and Goshen Road stations began accepting Mudflap– a digital way for fleets to pay for fuel.
- New ice machines were installed at Waynehaven and Royville.
- New spill buckets per EPA and IDEM were installed at Brookwood, Goshen Road, and Waynehaven.
- Old, rusty pump-islands were eliminated by pouring concrete around the existing islands at our stations, which improves safety and allows for little maintenance.
- A used, but improved, 4200-gallon tank-wagon was purchased for our fuel delivery service.
- New LED fixtures were installed at the corporate office.
- We initiated a 100% paperless pipeline from the stores to the corporate office– saving time and money– giving us virtually real-time accounting information.
- We rounded the year out with four experienced new managers for our stores.
- We supported the launch of the new Sunoco App and Sunoco Go Rewards program, enabling touch-free payment at our pumps.
We look forward to continuing to Refresh, Refuel, and Reward our customers in the coming year. Happy New Year!
